A New Chef at the Grand Hotel Rogaška: Mr. Giovanni Diana

As we all know, one of the most important things when we go on holiday is the food. One of the best things about visiting a new country and experiencing a different culture is getting to try the food, which is often far apart from what you have back home.

Everything we do here at the Grand Hotel Rogaška is done to please our guests and exceed their expectations. This extends far beyond our beautiful rooms and excellent service, and is also prevelant within our restaurant; The Four Seasons. To continue our quest for culinary excellence, we have recently welcomed a new chef to our team; Chef Giovanna Diana.

Chef Diana’s has a long standing culinary career, having started in Hotel Des Bains of Starwood Hotels Worldwide. Here, he was controlling the breakfast, lunch and dinner services as well as the a la carte room service and snack bar. He was also involved in the organisation of special events and catering for meetings.

He quickly achieved the position of Chef de cuisine in Giemme Hotels Milano, where he worked during the summer season. His next stop was the Capri Palace Hotel, and it was here that he ran the catering for a very elaborate event. The wedding of a famous record label owner, with the wedding estimated to cost around one million dollars!

Since then, he worked at Grand Hotel Plaza and La Meridien Chia Laguna, serving over nintety thousand meals during his time there whilst he worked as the Executive Chef. He also held this position at Tiberio Palace Hotel, Terme di Saturnia resort & golf course, Marcegaglia Tourism group, Domina Group and in the Lighthouse Golf SPA & Resort Bulgaria.

Personally he considers himself a person who is able to work in different environments. He enjoys in working with staff and sharing ideas to achieve mutual satisfaction when the projects becomes a success. In his thirty years of cooking career he managed to gain skills such as solving problems when they occur and as well as good organising skills.

Above all, his goal is to achieve guest’s satisfaction and ensuring they leave the hotel please, which is the most precious award for all of us working in the Grand Hotel Rogaška.
