Some people had to work during the holidays, some stayed at home and enjoyed the time spent with their loved ones, whilst others went on holidays abroad and welcomed the New Year in a different environment. We all hope that the New Year will bring better times and new opportunities. One of the most popular New Year’s resolutions is to change your way of living to a better, healthier one. If you are among those who want to do something for their health, we are here to help you and lead you towards a healthier and lighter way of life in 2014. We are starting with another Body and Soul Retreat with the motto: “Healthy through winter, with Fiery breath and Yin yoga!”. The programme starts on Friday, 31st of January, when you will start with Yin yoga, individually and in pairs. Yin yoga stretching is the perfect winter body practice, and a great companion to the fiery breath. It allows the created warmth to circulate throughout the body and its meridians. The practice calms down the body, whilst providing adequate flow of blood and vital chi (life force energy), to avoid stagnation and stiffness of joints, muscles and deep fascia tissues that can easily happen during the coldest part of the year. You will continue with Qi gong exercise, which invigorates your soul as well as your body; during which you can become more in touch with your inner self. Qi gong exercises will focus on body and mind „ventilation“ that removes tough, sleepy, stalled energy and brings more freshness, vitality and Qi flow on a daily basis. Thinking, working, and playing all require and consume Qi from your body. Traditional Chinese medicine understands the need for energy replenishment. One of the great methods of internal organ harmonization has long been successfully used to awaken and boost Qi. During your stay you will also have the chance to try out food which is good for the mind and for the body; healthy, light and delicious, prepared by our excellent Chef G. Gomes Calistus. In between seminars and exercises you will have the chance to drink refreshing fruit & vegetable juice, not to mention the time spent in our saunas, pool and fitness centre. In order to relax completely we have also added a 30 min de-stress massage. It seems a lot to do and try out, but remember, you will come here to relax and free your mind and soul so do not worry, everything is scheduled with a slow pace so you will gradually let go of all your worries and bad habits. So, we are starting on 31st of January, but keep in mind that the spring will be here quicker than you think, so be ready for another retreat in spring when you will start to prepare yourself for summer!
